What is Grief?
Grief
is a normal human reaction to loss.
Most
people experience a significant loss at some time during their lives,
and as a result will go through a process of grief.
Grief
is not just a state of mind, it is an all consuming experience that
affects the way we think, feel and behave. In today's society we are
not taught how to deal with the range of emotions and experiences
associated with grief. As a result those experiencing it often feel
very alone and unable to cope.

CD Set -
Grieving,
Loss and Grief
The
CD Set consists of three CD's and a personal workbook, providing you
with an understanding of the entire grief process from survival through
to healing and growth.
The
personal workbook contains a summary of the process presented on the
CD's, together with practical exercises.
The
CD Set is designed for individuals who are experiencing grief personally
or for those who are supporting someone else in grief.

- The Grief Process
Explores the nature of grief and examines it as a total person response
within the four main categories of human expression, physical, emotional,
intellectual and spiritual
Presents the common experiences of grief by identifying the signs
and symptoms that may occur within each of the categories
Examines the impact of grief on the way we relate and behave
Looks at how we deal with grief within our society, both historically
and in the modern day western world, relating this to our individual
experience
Guidance through a 7-step exercise detailing the types of losses
that may occur through the course of your life, and the effects
of accumulated grief
CD
2 - Recognising Your Personal Needs
Dedicated to providing you with the ability to recognise and meet
your own needs
4 practical exercises designed to assist you to learn and grow beyond
your grief, presented in a creative style of self exploration
35 helpful strategies for managing grief on a daily basis throughout
the entire process
15 activities that can be easily applied to everyday routines to
consciously and intentionally direct grief toward recovery
26 ways those supporting someone in grief can best assist while
taking care of themselves
Development of a self-care plan increasing the ability to cope with
grief and attain a greater sense of comfort and well-being
Skills gained in this part of the program can be used to enhance
other areas of life
CD 3 - Letting Go and Grieving Relaxation
Guided relaxation focusing on releasing the intense, painful thoughts,
feelings and physical sensations commonly experienced when in grief
Particularly helpful in alleviating symptoms such as insomnia, anxiety
and depression
Reinforcement of the different coping tools presented in the program

Group Program - Grieving, Loss and Grief
The
Group Program is for individuals who are experiencing grief personally
or for those who are supporting someone in grief.
The
Program is conducted over four consecutive weeks with each session lasting
two hours.
Group Numbers are limited to ensure individual attention
Sessions are designed to promote active participation and learning
The strategies taught are easily applied within your day to day
life
